You don’t need a coach ‘like’ you.
Most people think they need a coach that understands what they are going through, but the truth is you are best served by a coach that challenges you and your view of the world.
It’s comfortable and relatable to surround yourself with people like you. And it is stagnant.
If you are a high-level executive, don’t go for a coach that is an ex-executive.
You could probably have a great conversation about the common unsolved issues you face(d). That is just reinforcing what you already know.
Coaching is about getting a new perspective on a topic/ issue, that would inform a new approach.
You are best served by your coach when you are able to see better, not when you feel better.
Feeling better will come later, after you act based on seeing better.
